The Power of Therapy + the Power of Ketamine

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is therapy with a licensed mental health professional that allows participants to gain access to the felt-sense of emotional content and difficult unconscious material in a rapid and powerful way and allow that content to be accessed, worked with and processed with the assistance of a highly-trained therapist.

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is a process that allows us to gain access to the unconscious. At low doses, similar to what we use, ketamine produces a hypnotic or dreamlike state.

During normal waking life, we have barriers and defense mechanisms that serve to push away unpleasant or intolerable memories, emotions, and phobias—feelings that we repress and store in our unconscious, where we can’t readily access them. Ketamine tends to help break down those barriers and open up access to the unconscious. At higher doses, ketamine can be dissociative and produce deep, meaningful transpersonal experiences.

Essentially, ketamine helps bring deep-rooted emotions to the surface, giving us a glimpse into the unconscious mind. The talk therapy then helps us examine the released material, to make meaning of it and to facilitate change through enhancement of learning to work through and examine those emotions in a safe and secure environment.

  • Ketamine is quite safe even at high anesthesia doses. Our clinical ketamine doses 20-30x times LESS than anesthetic doses. It is not toxic to the heart or brain and is not addictive. Some people have a small increase in blood pressure and/or heart rate during dosing sessions.

Ketamine is quite tolerable, resulting in sensations of time and thinking distortion that usually lasts around 30-45 minutes. I will be monitoring you throughout the dosing session to provide assistance if necessary.

Ketamine is one of the most widely used medications in modern medicine, and is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines. It was developed in 1963, FDA-approved in 1970, and used frequently by many hospitals and medical offices because of its rapid onset, proven safety, and short duration of action. Ketamine is most commonly used in surgical settings and is unique because it does not cause cardiovascular or respiratory depression/impairment associated with common anesthetics.

  • If you suffer from long-term depression and current medications do not help or significant chronic anxiety, KAP my be right for you. The best way to determine if KAP is right for you is to contact Dr. Ingram and discuss your situation with him during a brief 10 minute free consultation.

  • KAP treatment costs vary based on the length of treatment needed. If you have an insurance I accept your insurance will cover your preparation and integration sessions. Insurance will generally cover the first hour of your 3½ hour dosing session. The remaining 2½ hours cost between $250 and $500. My fees are often lower than other Ketamine practitioners as I try to keep my fees reasonable to allow greater access to the treatment for all people.

Your initial medical evaluation for your Ketamine prescription may be covered by your insurance, otherwise, the fees are $250 and follow-ups are $150. We will provide you an estimate of complete costs prior to beginning treatment.

Your insurance will not cover the cost of the Ketamine prescription which is approximately $40 per dose and there are normally two doses per prescription.
