Shirley Binder is a Marriage Family Therapist Intern (IMF) and her experience includes providing individual and group therapy in an inpatient psychiatric facility,providing intensive case management services in an outpatient community mental health clinic and providing in-home services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. She earned her MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles with a specialization in Spiritual Depth Psychology and her BA and certified Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist from California State University.
Shirley provides a safe therapeutic environment to connect and collaborate with you to help you identify and work towards your goals and increase your empowerment, self-growth and promote change. Her collaborative approach incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices, Jungian Psychology and Narrative Therapy. CBT techniques offer more immediate interventions aimed at addressing thoughts and behaviors to increase awareness and desired change. Mindfulness Practices help you develop a greater awareness of your thinking and emotions and how they affect you in the present moment. Jungian psychology provides tools for exploring meaning, dreams, and spirituality. Narrative psychology involves promoting change by recreating life stories where creativity and healing are part of the process.
Shirley Binder is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (IMF 99426) She is currently completing requirements for her California Marriage and Family Therapist license. She became a member of our team at Archeus this year and will be continuing with us as an associate after she receives her license. Shirley is currently practicing under the supervision of Mark Ingram, Psy. D. Lic #24268.
